FAQ

My child does not speak French; will they have success at Westboro Academy?

Our full time JK and SK programs allow children to have the opportunity to be in a French environment for an entire day. Listening to, and having fun in French proves to build their vocabulary and create a positive experience while learning the new language.

For older grades, we have 2 English and 2 French teachers who work part time as tutors to help children when they need help with academics or with organizational skills. Theses tutorial services are offered in French and in English during school hours and are included in the tuition cost.

When does the regular school day start and end?

Children may be dropped off at 8:15 am. The school day begins at 8:45 am and ends at 3:45 pm, Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, the start time remains 8:45 am, however school is dismissed at 3:15 pm.

Do you have Before and After Care Services?

Yes. The Before Care Program begins at 7:30 am. The cost is $6 per morning per child. The After School Program runs from 3:45 pm and ends at 5:30 pm. The cost is $12.00 per afternoon per child.

What are the class sizes?

The JK class has a maximum of 14 students. The SK and grades 1 to 8 haveĀ a maximum of 18 students.

What if I want to wait until grade 1 to register my child?

In grade 1, students have built a French vocabulary that enables them to understand and speak in sentences. This vocabulary, which had been learned during the JK and SK program, makes it easier for them to read and understand what they are reading in the grade 1 French class.

Can I get a tax receipt for what I pay?

Westboro Academy is a Registered Charitable Organization. This means that all donations are receipted as charitable gifts. Tax receipts are also issued for 100% of tuition for JK and SK, and 20% of tuition for grade 1 onwards.
