Enrolling at Westboro Academy

We want to ensure that Westboro Academy will be a good fit for your child and your family. The admission process helps our school get a full sense of who your child is before granting admission. It is also intended to help parents make an informed and appropriate decision on enrolment.

International students are an important part of Westboro Academy’s identity. Currently, 15%+ of our students come from abroad; they hail from 10+ different countries, and they speak over 15 languages at home; we are proud of our cultural and linguistic diversity.

We invite you to follow the 4 easy chronological steps below to apply.

The Admissions Process

1

Visit

A visit to Westboro Academy will provide you with a sense of our school community. Discovering its secure and friendly environment is an important step in the admissions process. Please note that tours are encouraged but not mandatory. You may proceed to step 2 prior to a tour.

2

Apply

Submit an application package with all the required supporting documentation. Supporting documents include a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization record, previous report cards, and a confidential reference form.

3

Assessment

The goal of the assessment visit is to determine the suitability of a child for the school. Social and academic abilities, as well as potential, are taken into consideration. All applicants will participate in individual and group activities.

Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten

An assessment for entry at a JK or SK level consists of a morning visit at the school.

Grades 1 to 8

An assessment for entry into grade 1 consists of a morning visit in the SK classroom. Assessments for grades 2, 3 and 4 consists of a one full day visit, and for entry into grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 visits take place over two consecutive days in the classrooms of their current grade.

Assessment visits for out-of-town applicants

We welcome out-of-town (domestic and international) applications. In lieu of in-person assessment visits for the students, we can arrange to have assessment tests sent to a proxy, and interviews are done via video chat.

4

Acceptance

If your child meets the school’s requirements, your family will receive an offer of admission shortly after the assessment. Successful applicants will be offered a contract to attend Westboro Academy. Formal acceptance of an offer is made by providing appropriate payment(s) and signatures, and by returning it to the Office of Admissions within one week of the time it is offered.
