Westboro Academy

Kindergarten

Westboro Academy offers a full day Junior Kindergarten (for those who are 4 years old by December 31 of their entering year) and a full day Senior Kindergarten (for those who are 5 years old by December 31 of their entering year). At Westboro, we know that kindergarten is a special time for children. It marks an important milestone in the growth and development of the child. We make it a priority to provide an environment for our youngest students that is warm and nurturing, stimulating and engaging, and one where they can grow to meet their full potential.

Both of the Kindergarten programs are taught exclusively in French, although no prior experience with the French language is necessary. Many of the students come from unilingual homes and the youngsters quickly acquire the new language skills they need to succeed.

The Junior and Senior Kindergarten classes have a maximum of 14 and 18 students respectively. Each class has their own experienced, certified teacher as well as a rotating second experienced, certified teacher who collaborate together to deliver the program. The second certified teacher works in partnership with the homeroom teacher and is often in the classroom assisting students and helping with activities and lessons.

Students in the Kindergarten programs visit specialist teachers for music and for Physical Education.
