Westboro Academy

Principal’s Welcome

At Westboro Academy, we expect a lot from our boys and girls. Our mission is to graduate fully bilingual students who are confident and who have developed a love of learning. We strive to ensure that each student reaches their full potential and acquires a strong foundation not only for their academic future, but also for their future as global citizens. Bilingualism is a skill that children in the National Capital Region should not be denied. Our approach towards this is to provide half of every day in each of Canada’s official languages. Every day, the children rise to meet our expectations and surpass what they may have even thought attainable.

Westboro Academy is a small school, and we adhere strongly to our motto of Excellence, Integrity and Respect while fostering values of good citizenship, responsibility, and determination. Our students love to come to school, because it is a place where they know they belong and where they can be themselves. Our small size allows us to get to know all the children as individuals and to give them the attention and understanding they need. There are no cracks to fall through here, and we pride ourselves on our familial environment. We also have small classes, with only one class per grade. With an average of 15 students per class, our students have more opportunities and are given more attention. This is an environment of inclusivity, from the classroom all the way to the soccer field.

Our high level of student achievement speaks for itself, but we are also proud of what our students are able to achieve in the context of a complete education, beyond the academics. Our children are artists and athletes, debaters and thinkers. They are friends and compassionate listeners. Westboro students are writers, creators and problem solvers. They are determined and fun-loving. They excel at being the best they can be.

Our dedicated and dynamic teachers work hard at every level, from the earliest years in Junior Kindergarten all the way to graduation in grade 8, to ensure that Westboro Academy students meet their full potential. They provide an environment for every child where real learning can happen, on many different levels. Our teachers have a passion for education and for working with children. With our wealth of experience, your children receive a superior quality education.

I would like to invite Ottawa families and families from the Outaouais region to come and meet our staff and students, and to see the school for yourselves. I am confident that you will see the benefits of a Westboro Academy education for your own children.
